Severe Storm Threat for Weekend/Go Houston Rockets!

Fierce storms are firing up late today ahead of a cold front. As I write this post, there have been 3 tornadoes in the Texas Panhandle, and that area and a small part of N. Texas and Oklahoma are at a moderate risk for severe weather overnight. On Saturday, look for severe storms anywhere from Texas to the central part of the East Coast. There will also be showers along the west coast and over the Rockies. Pleasantly cool over the northern half of the country and the west coast with highs in the 50s and 60s. Warm and muggy across the southern tier of states with highs in the 80s and 90s.

Sunday will be more pleasant for locations even further south as the cold front eases southward. The high in Dallas will only be in the 60s with lower humidity. Look out for severe weather for south Texas over to Alabama and north to Tennessee.

Houston will be warm and muggy this weekend with severe storms Sunday afternoon and evening. Then, the weather will be quite pleasant on Monday. Enjoy it while you can! Summer heat and humidity are trying to make a more lasting return to the area.
