Hot and humid/Climate Prediction Center Forecasts

HURRICANES AND WEATHER
Just checked the latest El Nino discussion from the Climate Prediction Center. We are trending to end the current La Nina and have a neutral year. This should result in a "normal" hurricane season with 12 tropical storms, 6 of those hurricanes and 2 major hurricanses The consensus is primarily that there should be an average number of storms this year. But, it only takes one to make misery. I'll have more on the approaching hurricane season (starts June 1st) in the coming weeks.

Mild to hot is what the weather is across the country from highs in the 50s, 60s and 70s over the northern 2/3 of the country and highs in the 80s and 90s across the south. There will be storms from Texas to Ohio and some in Iowa and Missouri. The Pacific Northwest will also be wet.

Houston will continue hot and humid for at least a week. Rain chances will be very low--10 to 20%.

SPANISH WORD OF THE DAY
Let's do class or clase, pronounced CLAAAAA-say. Tonight I said goodbye to my dear clase. See AND MORE section of details.

Teaching kids and watching them learn is an amazing experience. When I make "early language learning" presentations, parents are often quite intrigued as they watch their children learning from and enjoying our award winning DVD, Let's Learn Spanish with Frank & Paco. AND MORE
I posted some figures from the Climate Prediction Center -- Temperature and Precipitation Outlooks for May, June and July. Looks like warmer than normal and average rainfall for the Houston area.

Tonight was the last night for teaching religion class. I enjoyed it soooooooooooooooooooooo much! Had a great group of kids. It's been quite an exercise for me instructing at the 1st grade level. Sometimes, they were just not with me. And sometimes, they would ask questions or make comments that would just knock me off my feet. Anyway, this group of kids was wonderful and I will miss them very much!

Happy Wednesday!
