Summer Heat/Fence Frustration/Pools are Open!

HURRICANES AND WEATHER
On Monday, thunderstorms will pop along a cold front moving through the southeast. There will also be some over the central and northern Plains. There will also be some showers in the Pacific Northwest. Highs will be in the 60s and 70s across the northern 2/3rds of the country and in the 80s and 90s over the southern 1/3.

There were some severe storms well to the northeast of Houston on Sunday but the activity did not make it into Houston. On Monday, Houston will be hot and slightly less humid than on Sunday. Temperatures will be even hotter for the rest of the week. It will feel like summer all week long and rain chances will be very low.

AND MORE
Now it really is feeling like summer! In First Colony, the Magnolia, Lexington and Woodstream Pools are open on weekends (they opened this weekend 5/2 and 5/3). The weather was perfect for the opening--nice and hot. And surprisingly the water at the Magnolia pool wasn't all that chilly. Last year, I remember that on the first day, the water was very cold--brrrrr! You can pick up your pool tags Monday through Saturday, but they'll only give you 4 this year. They said that everyone was picking up 6 last year and they ran out. Well I say rats!!!

Speaking of the neighborhood, we and our neighbor to the east got a notice that our new fence was out of compliance. They said that one piece on the side showed the back of the fence and that it was visible from the road and that isn't allowed. They attached a quote of the covenant language and it did say that. But here is the mega-frustrating part--this is exactly how it was made to begin with. I have pictures to prove it. And there are several existing configurations in our neighborhood which were not replaced which look just this way. Ooohhhh...this kind of thing burns me up! And to add insult to injury, the letter said to just take off the cross piece and put it on the back. Well, I'm no genius carpenter, but I can tell you that just won't work!!! It would fall apart! We didn't get to replacing it--our dear neighbor took it upon himself to make it look right and we are so grateful. That's what I love about our neighborhood. Our neighbors are the best!!! Thanks Dave and Trish!

Have a great week everyone!
