HURRICANES AND WEATHER
As I write this evening, there have been 7 reports of tornadoes in the plains and dozens of reports of large hail and damaging winds. On Tuesday the threat for severe weather moves east and south into Texas all the way to Illinois. Main threat will be large hail and high wind, but tornadoes can't be ruled out. It will be cool in the northeast, northern plains and northwest with highs in the 20s, 30s, and 40s. Highs will be in the 70s and 80s across the southern tier of states. There will be showers over the northern Rockies and the Pacific Northwest and northern New England and some thunderstorms in Florida.
Houston will be cloudy and breezy with highs in the 70s. There will be some showers, possibly some severe storms mainly north of Houston. Thunderstorms will be possible into Saturday when the next front moves through and brings back the sunshine and lower humidity.
SPANISH WORD OF THE DAY
Let's do shoe or zapato, pronounced zah-PAH-toe. What do you think about high heeled zapatos? You can voice your opinion in our new poll.
I think Spanish is fun...just think about the word zapato...it's fun to say. Spanish is also fairly easy to learn because it is so phonetic. And better yet, children enjoy it and learn it faster, because they have the advantages of a youthful brain. They love our award winning DVD, Let's Learn Spanish with Frank & Paco.Order your's today from www.frankandpaco.com/. AND MORE
Our spring break plans poll is closed. 16% said they would go to the rodeo and 16% said they would go to the beach. 33% said they would take a trip and 33% said they would visit family. 50% said they would spend time with friends. 33% said they would shop. 50% said they would relax. 83% said they would work. 16% said they would study. No one said they would go snow skiing, visit the zoo, or go to museum. Multiple answers were allowed. Thanks for participating.
Did a little shopping tonight at Dillard's with family. I was astounded as the sales attendant told me which super high heeled Jessica Simpson shoes were the biggest sellers. He said the floral patterned one wasn't but a glossy, brown and black shoe was a huge hit. He also pointed out a brown strappy shoe with front zipper that was adored. He said the glossy fuschia with open toe was a big success, and there was a blue crushed suede number that did well too. All I could think was ow, ow, ow because they all had super high heels (and I hope my hubby doesn't mind that I just can't handle those shoes). What do you think? Answer my new poll about high heeled shoes. You can choose multiple answers. Have fun! (Please go down a bit on the right to see the poll--because of the severe weather threat, I am putting the weather items higher).
Have a safe Tuesday everyone (and take care of those feetsies!)
