HURRICANES AND WEATHER
Interesting changes temperature-wise over the U.S. On Friday, temperatures will be moderated in many locations...either cooler or warmer than a few days ago. It is making the temperature distribution a lot more even...Florida will be the exception with highs in the 80s. But there will be many locations with the highs in the 30s, 40s and 50s. California will have highs in the 60s. There will be rain and some thunderstorms in Texas and Louisiana as well as in New Mexico and Arizona. There will also be some rain in DC through the Ozarks and Tennessee Valley.
Houston will be cold and wet--very damp. Temperatures won't get out of the 40s. Should see some spots with 1/2 to 1 inch of rain. Saturday will be cool and cloudy with some light rain...highs in the 50s. Sunday will still be cloudy but warmer with highs close to 60. Monday through Friday there will be sunshine...lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s. So, go ahead and make those outdoor spring break plans!!!
SPANISH WORD OF THE DAY
Let's do damp or húmedo, pronounced OOH-may-dough. It is so húmedo outside.
I spoke to the West Houston Chapter of Mocha Moms, Inc. about the benefits of early language learning. While I spoke, I played (quietly) our award winning video. The moms couldn't help but notice how the little ones were drawn to it. Afterward, they were sure to order a copy to take home. You too can get in on the fun and learning--Order your copy today from www.frankandpaco.com/. You can also order from http://www.venturaes.com/, http://www.dololanguages.com/, http://www.carlexonline.com,www.thecuriousmindstore.com/, http://www.amazon.com/, http://www.bestbuy.com/, and http://www.barnesandnoble.com/. AND MORE
At the Mocha Mom's meeting this morning, there was also a pediatric dentist giving a presentation. I was happy that I knew most of the tips, but here is something I had never thought of. They encouraged giving kids tap water instead of filtered or bottled, because you know that the tap water has fluoride and the kids need that for their teeth. I will keep that in mind when Sarah gets water.
Big thanks to Dave Gorham for sending me this link from NPR. Weather does correlate with higher reports of migraines...in particular extreme temperature increases...check it out for yourself. Thanks Dave!!! P.S. I didn't know 20% of women and 5% of men have migraines...that's a lot of bad headaches.

Well, as I mentioned last month, here is another Friday the 13th. But I thought of another way 13 is lucky...it was lucky for the number 13 wild card for American Idol last week.
Happy Friday everyone!
